Betsy Byars shares her writing experiences by discussing how she develops her characters. This short video clips is a powerful means to get students to understand character development. It can also be used to inspire students' to write their own short stories as individuals expressing their experiences through creating a realistic fiction story. I am without a doubt going to show this short video clip to my students as part of our writing activity.
"The one doing the thinking is the one doing the learning" is a phrase I impart to my students. I consistently remind my students that thinking empowers their capability and drive to succeed. "Knowledge is Power,"(Francis Bacon) with that power comes ownership, acceptance, responsibility, courage, perseverance, gratitude, respect, and assimilation of productive outcomes.
